Why would you pay that much for Kakko?

I’m opposed to this because Kakko would be pushed out of the Top 6 once Landeskog returns next year. I’d rather deal for a rental elsewhere. Also a former first, a first, and a second is a steep price.

Don't know much about Olausson but just looking at his stats, he seems very underwhelming. So all in all this boils down to Kakko for a late 1st + late 2nd which doesn't really benefit the Rangers even if they're trying to shop him, especially considering Kakko's developing well at his own pace and has already carved out a role in our lineup as a solid middle 6 2-way winger. You're gonna have to send a good player back for the Rangers to consider.

Lets not give up on OO just yet. Also Kakko doesn't quite slot into our top 6 right now. And I don't think you're going to see the Avs part with many draft picks for the next few years. Our core is starting to near the 30yo age mark, meaning its time to start thinking about reloading the pipeline again (or really for the first time ever because we SUCK at drafting lol).

The only underwhelming thing here is the lack of production from a former 2nd overall pick. To not break 25pts until year 4, that’s underwhelming.

I’ll happily keep the 1st and 2nd round picks and hope that one day Olausson matches the high 40pt bar KK has established
