SJS declines that pile of junk. EK65 at 4yr x 7mil carries much higher value than this offer.

Petry is of no value here, a 4th to buyout Carter isn’t enough etc.

ok, I'll try to explain it better for you:

Carter, very simply, is based on the Bailey trade. so there is a precedent. chi gained a 2026 2nd rounder for 5mil. you will get a 2024 4th for 3mil.

EK officially asked for a trade, you won't get 200 1sts. the value already took a hit. after this consider the fact that he is 33 and not getting younger. another hit to his value. now really consider the offer I made sjs: pickering (value=1st round pick), Blomqvist (value=1st round pick) a 2024 1st round pick and Jeff petry is there just for cap reasons. and sjs can use him as a stopgap and then trade him next year or at the deadline.

I mean I'm biased here but never heard of a player not wanting to come to pit in the Crosby and geno era. plus with the pens EK would have his last chance at the cup with the rest of the core here. plus he showed a ton of respect and nice words for pit when we beat them in the ECF in 2017 before becoming back to back champs.

but sure we can't talk for him so we will never now... unless if we do trade for him lol

I think it's doubtful the Penguins make the playoffs next year right now. Next summer though, that'll be good. The cap increase and some players off the books. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do then.

I wonder if Karlsson will waive his NMC fully so it no longer applies to his contract too. Not likely, but he could be a hired gun for the best teams until he gets a Stanley Cup kinda thing.

EK did say the sharks never asked him if he'd waive for a trade last deadline, but it was reported that they regretted not taking what the Oilers were offering. Which makes me think Bouchard was part of the deal, so San Jose must have a very high asking price. Sharks are hurting their chances of attracting free agents in the future the longer the rumours go on though IMO
