Obviously resigning matthews and nylander


So much is possible if we move both these horrible contracts in Brodie and Murray. Wouldn’t even have to part ways with any of the core four. And salary raise will be compensated next season for matthews and nylander when people are off the books

Except that the Hawks and 'Yotes both decline. Some team might give you a pick for Brodie but it won't be the Hawks. Can't see any team actually paying anything for Murray - especially since every GM in the league knows Leafs need to dump him.

Given what hasn't happened as of 2pm on 1 July, I could live with this.

However, the Pesce trade seems like a best case scenario, no?

Hawks traded a 2nd to get a 1st to take Mrazak as I recall. And Hawks needed a veteran goalie and wanted another 1st round pick at that point in the draft.

That's fair.
Dubas was able to throw that anvil overboard, and Treliving has to try to clean up his miss this time.
