There is a way to even out the tax difference from Canada and the USA also having different amounts per State. The cap hit per team is after taxes so that evens out everything, now of course the league will have to adjust the overall cap but it wouldn't make players not want to play in Canada over the big tax difference.

I think we (fans) all recognize the current cap system is broke; just not sure the owners and their stoolie bettman agree. Do away with the hard cap, establish a soft cap with luxury tax which allows big revenue teams (like leafs, habs and even oilers, flames, Canucks) to out spend most teams in USA, the majority of which are ‘small market’ teams. Tampa, Florida, Carolina are all small market teams but ridiculous system allows them to compete on equal financial level with much bigger markets like leafs or habs or rangers or flyers
