No lol... bottom 6 guys are everywhere. Also berggren isn't going to be a panarin level player. Laf has gotten better every season, on the third line with a crap coach. Now PL is coach he's "said" laf and kakko will get some top 6 opportunities. There is just no value worth giving up on a first oa for here.

Lets see if he signs an extension this summer. In order for him to be a top player he needs to play top6 minutes and PP1. He will never get PP1 because Panarin and Zibanejad are unbelievable. Yeah but I don't think Ottawa was willing to take less and I'm pretty sure Yzerman made a counter offer. Did you watch the 1st round of draft? When they announced Detroit was on the clock no one got up and Yzerman had just answered the phone. Berggren is going to be a very good player probably won't hit 40 goals in a season but without Kane I don't see DeBrincat hitting 40 again. I think Berggren puts up 20 to 30 goals a season.

Drury would cream his pants if he was able to parlay Lafreniere into Berggren & Rasmussen.

Would rather send draftpicks than trade Berggren to Ottawa. I would be okay with trading him to another division though. Right now, his points doesnt make up for his defensive liabilty. Zibanejad have one of the best onetimer, Panarin is the best passer in the league. That PP was firing on all cylinders until Gallant decided to put Zibanejad in the bumper-position and have Panarin &Kane on the flank. That unit with Kreider-Zibanejad-Panarin-Trochek-Fox is elite. no need changing

I dont think Rasmussen have the intelligence to play with top6 forwards like a Bertuzzi, Palat and even Bunting. I see Rasmussen as a career 3rd liner and if Berggren needs to be sheltered 5on5, I would package them for a former 1st overall who got most of his points 5on5 ever since he got there. Laf would score 30+ goals playing on PP1 and on the top line with Larkin & Raymond. Rasmussen can be replaced by Soderblom

Ok and that's fine but I wouldn't. Last season we had a new coach and a ton of turnover from the year before especially when Bertuzzi only played 29 games and Vrana only played 5 games. This season Lalonde will have a better feel for the team. We also had some good players injured (Bertuzzi, Vrana, Fabbri and Rasmussen) and that's a lot of offense gone. So they call up Berggren and he starts producing right away. They let him play like that for the season while he gets used to NHL. Which is rather smart, this season they work on getting to play more of an Yzerman style of game. He will likely struggle at first but he already knows he can score so it shouldn't take too long for him to get back into form.

And Berggren hasn't scored under 15 ever. LOL

Now I think a lot of people especially on this site put WAY TOO MUCH emphasis on advance stats. But when you are comparing top 6 forwards stats like goals, assists and points are very relevant.
