This is kind of a non story in my opinion. There are almost always people that are not going to like taking one player over the other (i did not like the pick, but wahtever, fans are allowed to voice their displeasure in a reasonable manner) and there will be people who will be vocal about it in ways that may get directly to the player (i.e. his social media account or whatever). On that note, it is unacceptable to send negative messages etc directly to Reinbacher so soon after being drafted, because it was one of the best days of his life. He is an 18 year old kid, so let him be happy.
However, in the next few years he will have to prove himself on the ice and this event will not be determinative of whether he turns into a Hall of Famer, an All Star, a regular on the blue line for 15 years or a bust.
It probably would have been better for Montreal management to come out and say "Stop with the negative comments being made to him" rather than the (apparent) message that they are letting the negative comments by fans determine where they are going to expect him to play.
Hopefully Reinbacher has a good mental approach to pressure in sports and this will be background noise to him.
