Description
the news about the management being scared of bringing him over because of the hate messages is so ****ing ridiculous to me and shows how incompetent these ''professional scouts and gms'' are, the people actually going out of their ways to send hate are most definitely a minority, the habs are known to be one of the organization with the stupidest questions at player interviews so maybe they should have took that energy to ask actual important questions like ''how do you think you'll handle the pressure of playing here'' or ''can you handle the negative reactions to being drafted by us'', it's crazy how they keep talking about wanting to build a team with ''character'' but keep drafting guys who can't perform under the montreal pressure. i was over the pick already but that news, if true, is so pathetic. montreal needs superstar players like caufield, not nice guys with good character, 20 years of drafting like that and look where it got them, nowhere. im not ****ting on reinbacher btw, he was my second pick after michkov.

I can't take a whole summer of these comments. Hopefully the narrative changes after Free Agency. They picked the player that they believe will help them win in the playoffs. Just like Slafkovsky.

I love the pick, Reinbacher is in the same skill teir as Nemec and Jiricek last year, just plays a different style and filled our most crucial need. This hate BS and threads like this are why it's hard to attract top skilled players to Montreal.

This is kind of a non story in my opinion. There are almost always people that are not going to like taking one player over the other (i did not like the pick, but wahtever, fans are allowed to voice their displeasure in a reasonable manner) and there will be people who will be vocal about it in ways that may get directly to the player (i.e. his social media account or whatever). On that note, it is unacceptable to send negative messages etc directly to Reinbacher so soon after being drafted, because it was one of the best days of his life. He is an 18 year old kid, so let him be happy.

However, in the next few years he will have to prove himself on the ice and this event will not be determinative of whether he turns into a Hall of Famer, an All Star, a regular on the blue line for 15 years or a bust.

It probably would have been better for Montreal management to come out and say "Stop with the negative comments being made to him" rather than the (apparent) message that they are letting the negative comments by fans determine where they are going to expect him to play.

Hopefully Reinbacher has a good mental approach to pressure in sports and this will be background noise to him.

1) He's definitely gonna make the NHL by 2025-26... Hopefully 2024-25
2) He's the best hope we have for a top pair RHD, which is actually the hardest position in hockey to fill
3) He's never going to be a locker room cancer and, by reputation at least, Michkov has a chance to become one

Great pick!

Reinbacher seems like a down to earth kid. My favorite comments I heard were about how the Swiss League has relegation and the team he plays for was at risk of relegation so it's incredibly rare that they give an 18 year old kid the kind of responsibilities and ice time they gave him.
