Dvorak needs to go, logjam at C. Considering what the Habs traded for him less than 2 years ago, this return is a disaster. Regardless, they need to let him go.

HOFFMAN: negative value. Would rather spend 1.1 mil for 2 years on no one than see him put on the Habs jersey again. Absolute disgrace of a player.

Dvorak to Caps makes no sense for 3 reasons:

      1) He's a terrible possession player, Caps pay attention to stuff like that.

      2) They are stacked at center with Kuz, Strome, Backy, and Dowd. And if they do move Kuz (they won't) they have McMichael and Protas that can play center.

      3) They don't have the cap space.

Theres no point moving Eddy with retention for a 4th. They can be a broker at the TDL and get a 4th to move the same amount of money. Waste of a retention spot. Their cap is fine with over 11M in space, they dont need to do what contenders have been doing without leverage and Eddy has no term beyond this season. Let him play and he probably goes on LTIR within 10-15 games if not they cash in at the TDL. There is no losing in keeping him on the roster til the deadline. You can move Xhekaj to the minors. lots of options.

I mean they had 5 rookies on their blueline consistently last year and hung their goalies out to dry. I agree with getting younger but it should be up front. Hoffman and Armia are the ones that should be moved ASAP

sure, but foward being moved out as little to do qith defenceman being moved out. im not saying they nove eddy yet, but they do have a lot of D that arw nhl ready. in reality someone is probably injured so eddy ends up staying.

As the great Bergevin liked to say, "you can never have too much D" I dont see a downside in keeping Eddy around. He can be a cheerleader at worse. A 4th would be ok if he demanded a trade and was a problem but he specifically told Hughes last deadline that he wants to stay. There is no reason to dump him at this point. There are far more pressing issues at forward rn.

not sure what you are saying... you can definitly have too many D and having more preassing issue with foward doesnt mean you cant deal things with the defense... anyway, not really conv8nced about your argumnents, BUT, i dont necessarely tjink they should move him and they probably wont until deadline.

Im saying they have a lot more flexibility at defence than forward. Defence like an Eddy are still valued across the league whereas wingers have been treated as excess. This is about value in the end and maximizing said value. they dont need to maximize their lineup in a rebuild. Xhekaj can go down to the minors for one. I dont think they are waiving Hoffman and Armia to go to the minors. It's not rocket science if you dont agree that is fine but my argument is simple. Defence scarcity is a thing whereas winger scarcity is not. Any trade including Eddy should not be treated as a cap dump unlike Hoffman/Armia.
