I feel like this take is a bit overdone. However, I do agree that this deal isn’t good for Toronto, but Nashville also shouldn’t be looking to trade next year’s first with so many changes in the past four months.

He was in Colorado and they were a historically bad team, he gets traded to Ottawa and Colorado goes nuts and Ottawa falls to pieces. He goes to Columbus and everyone leaves, signs in Nashville and they have been not great since. He's a cancer.

Who said that about Eichel? I guess I can see his injury history as a problem but I didn't hear anything else. Duchene is just a ****ty person from what I can tell. Black cloud where ever he goes.

A lot of people said things like that when he was in Buffalo. They were claiming he was a locker room cancer and all that stuff. As for Duchene, we don't know if he's a bad person. He could just be really unlucky OR the teams that sold him got rich off his returns(got the Avs Bowen Byram and Sam Girard, got the Sens a 2019 1st+)

Pretty sure he was just on vacation with Landeskog, who just so happens to be the captain of the Avalanche. I have a feeling if Duchene was as bad as you make him out to be, those two would not be friends. As for Ottawa, what have they accomplished without Duchene? I'm not even going to entertain the Columbus one. He was there for 23 regular season games, and Panarin and Bobrovsky had already made it clear they were going to explore free agency. Not only that, they also won their first playoff series in franchise history with him.

I don't think it's luck, he was a big baby in Colorado and Ottawa and everywhere he goes, bad stuff happens.

Keep him then, I have no desire to ever see him on the leafs. Just not worth the risk
