Krug won't move because of family reasons. It was reported the only team he'll waive for is Detroit as he is from Michigan. I believe it has something to do with him not wanting to uproot his kids, but I'm not 100% on that.

Why wouldn't he waive for Florida? Not saying he definitely would, but it seems likely that if he would waive, Florida would be an option.

Yeah if we retain $2.5M on Krug it’s virtually the same as trading Leddy (at least for years 1-3). I bet Boston might take a crack at him. Depends how much they need to sign a center and winger.

Seems then Leddy is our best bet and we find Parayko a better partner. Sucks to have Krug and Perunovich running the same role

Ehh no. There are actually NHL cities closer to Detroit than St. Louis. Now, the choices are certainly limited, but nah.

Dubas made some comments about not wanting guys with too much term and focusing on short deals in free agency. Krug having 4 years left might not fit his plan.

He did indeed say that, but I believe that's more so related to not wanting to give too much term to bottom 6 peices as that's his focuse in FA
