Description

Goodrow would probably waive to go back to SJ. I like this deal for both teams, Garand is by all accounts a pretty good NHL prospect in net. Goodrow gives them some veteran leadership during a tough couple years coming up

Rangers get some top 9 RW depth (most pressing need imo) and a capable BUG holding Shestys clip board

Two keys to next season will be Laf moving to RW and Cuylle REALLY needs to make the team next year, or Othman. Either ELC is a must in the the lineup

These UFA signings are who I feel is the best fit for the NYR.

-Motte needs stay this time, he fits exactly what they need (I gave him an additional year to keep the AAV down)

-I could see Accari or Nosek coming to Ny, take your pick on who

-and I could also see one more player IE-Bluger, Bellmare or Brassard, for example, being added for additional center depth.

-If Wheeler gets bought out I could see him signed also.

Imo, NYR will sign a couple of lower tier UFAs like this, 1 or 2, possibly 3 guys making under two million bucks

Garand isn’t the problem. Four seasons of Goodrow and losing Barabanov for a cap dump is. That ruins the deal. Sharks have two retention spots left, 1 for Karlsson and not wasting one on a 2 mil player for a cap dump. This trade is horrible for the sharks just admit it.

Barabanov is a 50 point player, Kahkonen half retained and San Jose taking on 4 years of a 30 point nearly $4 mil player. Garand is like a C prospect, not that great

Id focus on a team that might actually want Goodrow and has cap space. Thats the Kraken. He would reunite with his buddy Gourde and Goodrow plays the type of hockey that would fit in seamlessly there..

just gonna ignore the fact that as a fourth round pick he put up sub .900 numbers playing half the regular season? sure he had a good playoffs but to project him as a #1 is coping hard, just accept this trade is bad for the sharks

You’re missing why they would do this trade. What is the point of Bara being a Shark? You guys suck (no disrespect), By the time they’ll be good again he’ll be old. He’s 29.
