LA is not willing to trade a guy like Quinton Byfield.

I don’t see any reason why LA would want another centre.

If they push Danault down to the 3C, makes them deep down the middle. That being said I don't think they deal Byfield. Probably Vilardi is going and if they are getting Hellebuyck maybe Turcotte.

If this trade happens, it will be a massive overpay and then I won't feel bad at all that Montreal passed.

That's the big question, I think the whole point of LA trading for MTL's 2nd is to give them time to figure that out. I don't think it will be Hellebuyck but maybe they re-sign Korpisalo once he figures out his market value or they trade for Vejmelka.

Currently, they have 9M and 6 spots left, if they deal Arvidsson and Iafallo (8.25M), they could fit in Dubois but then it's 9M for 7 spots, Clarke/Spence + Bjornfot+ Edler will probably be on the squad filling 3 spots for up to 3M maybe. Leaves them with 6M for 4 spots, one being the goalie.

They need to sign two of Anderson-Dolan, MacEwan, and Kupari + a goalie with that money. As for Vilardi, I think he gets traded for Dubois. That should allow for a 3.5M-4M goalie (could be Hellebuyck with retention), that's assuming Dubois is willing to take 8.25M.

Arvidsson and the draft picks for Hellebuyck 50% retained makes sense for Los Angeles. The rest of that doesn't.
