None of those five teams are going to trade for him for various reasons. He never said that those are the only teams that he would sign a long-term extension with... they were just the preferred ones
I mean... I don't think that there is going to be any offer for Pesce that's truly going to be great... I just tried my best to create one that would be at least reasonable

Was reported today that teams not on initial list have started calling and his camp is listening. Not saying he agrees to extension with another team not on the list but it’s not a take it or leave it situation.

Canes weren’t on Burns 3 team NTC last year but they called and asked about him and he added them to his approved list. Happens.

I think Carolina is generally a more desirable place to play than most media pundits and people on the internet think/willing to admit.

Well according to Friedman and LeBrun that's not true, He only wants hometown Detroit or the 4 teams with no State income tax. Probably could put Seattle on there since they've no State income tax either.

Winning helps with a good culture more than ppl think. Plus cost of living compared to bigger markets, weather/golf, etc.

Ppl get stuck on other factors and don’t think these things matter as much

I mean none of those teams are going to trade for him... so it doesn't really matter what he wants if the team he wants to go for isn't willing to deal for him. I think he's probably going to have to swallow a trade to a team that he doesn't prefer

Vegas, Dallas, and Tampa: No cap space to trade for him
Nashville: Team on the decline and signing DeBrincat wouldn't put them back into Stanley Cup Contention
Detroit: Not at the point in the rebuild would it make sense to deal for Debrincat... they aren't one piece away from being a contender.

Also mentioned was the notion that Dorian was not necessarily dead set on getting this done before the draft next week. Looks like he is open to letting this play out this summer for maximum return. Happy to get a 2024 1st. I think that is exactly what he should do. Ottawa has an opportunity to not screw this up and I don't believe they will wind up with a lousy offer unless they panic sell.
