Description
Trades 1-4 are draft day moves. Trades 2-4 are a three way trade where MTL receives Carter Hart, WSH’s first round pick in 2023 and Anthony Mantha at 50% retained. WSH receives Cam Atkinson, Nicolas Deslauriers, David Savard, FLA first round pick, PIT fourth round pick and LAK 2024 second round pick all while riding themselves of 100% of Mantha’s contract. PHI receives Jordan Harris, Filip Mesar, Gianni Fairbrother, Jake Allen, 50% of Anthony Mantha’s contract, Connor McMichael, Vincent Iorio, COL 2024 second round pick, BOS 2024 third round pick and MTL 2025 third round pick.

Trades 5-8 are off-season trades.

Trades 9 and 10 are at the trade deadline. As it is in the future and depends on Monahan’s and Hoffman’s performance, the specific teams in the deals may not want them however, they could both very well fetch a 1st rounder.

I expect in this scenario that in the 2024-25 offseason;
- Dillon Dubé resigns anywhere between 4.5-6 million for 6-8 years (the longer the contract the more it will likely pay).
- Edmundson signs short term at roughly the same figure.
- Justin Barron can sign a bridge deal or long term depending on his performance. Long term if he does well and bridge if he stays at the level he is at.
- Arber Xhekaj signs longer term for 2 million or under.
- Carter Hart signs long term for 6-8 million if he shows he is the same Hart from 2019-20 and improves the number of quality starts this season.
- Samuel Montembeault signs 3-5 year deal at 1-2.25 or short term 2.5 million so Kent can flip him to a team who needs goaltending.
- Cole Schwindt signs 2-4 million bridge if he comes to the NHL as it is likely that the older players will suffer injury, and he preforms well. Short term deal with low AAV if he stays in the AHL or doesn’t preform well in the AHL. He will likely walk in free agency in this case after the short term deal as he will be developed but MTL may be cap restricted as many other players will be developed by this time.
- Mattias Norlinder signs 3 year deal under 1 million. As far as I’m concerned he is and will forever be an AHLer. Let him walk if he wants more.

Who else walks in the 2024-25 offseason:
- Anthony Mantha
- Jeff Carter
- Mike Hoffman if we can’t trade him

If Monahan has a good, healthy season. If he has a healthy but scores roughly 20-30 points, rent for a second. If injured all season, resign for another year and run it back. It’s likely he signed a cheap one year deal with the habs with hopes he will have a good season, get rented to a team and then be able to sign either with that team if they can afford him or sign in free agency.

Please tell me if you think the trades or signings are unrealistic or not in your opinion! Would you like to see Kent Hughes do something like this? Let me know!

Having 7 players and 3 picks going to one team in one trade is a clear sign that OP doesn’t understand how the nhl and trades work. (See the Philadelphia trade)

I find it hysterical that you would move up one spot and give up Kidney who had another 100 point season in juniors just to draft will smith and he's not going to the nhl right away he's going to Boston College first. Also what philly is getting doesnt satisfy me what's so ever. We need 1st round picks but the players other than mantha are fine.

That is honestly one of the worst proposals I’ve seen to get the eighth pick from the caps. We’re paying the eighth overall along with one of our top prospects in McMichael and another in Iorioto move 1 year of mantha who VERY realistically could bounce back and be a top 6 producer and getting a defenseman we don’t need, a forward we don’t need, and the 31st overall pick? Forget the random other picks you threw in - nothing here even comes close to this making any sense for the caps.

That is assuredly ****ing horrible for Washington.
      1. Savard and Atkinson are basically worthless in trade value. Atkinson hasn’t played in over a year and Savard spent the end of last season on LTIR.
      2. Washington is giving up Mantha, Iorio, and McMichael for basically nothing. Why?
      3. Washington is trading 8th Overall for 31st Overall. Again, why?
      4. Washington is trading a 3rd for a 4th. Still, why?
      5. What need does Washington have for Nic Deslauriers?
      6. The 2nd from PHI seems like an afterthought. I can assure you it will cost more to get a team to take a Atkinson.

Literally every single thing here is absolute **** for Washington. It seems someone thinks one year of Anthony Mantha will cost a fortune to trade, that’s outright stupid considering that Savard and Atkinson are both bigger Cap Dumps than Mantha. Why is Washington the one paying?

You could have just called this entire ACGM Montreal unrealistically ****s every other team.

Most of these trades are ignoring cap/salary amounts, realistic trade values, # of players involved in trades, etc etc.

Sorry but this looks like NHL22 style trades that aren't very realistic in real life. Keep at it though, you don't become professional AGM over night!. wink
