So you have two 1sts and two 3rds

Plus Alex Formenton, which is the problem here. As of right now, he doesn't have much value because his NHL future is in big jeopardy. However, if his name gets cleared, then he has 1st + 2nd value, or top-15 first


This would make the Sens defensive group a bit silly though, way too much on the attack but why not I guess

With 4.5 mil retention we are losing the Karlsson trade twice. We will take Jarventie instead.

This is a pretty good return, even with the retention, and I don't think the Sharks "lost" the Karlsson trade either time. People only say they lost the first trade is because Norris developed into a star, and the Sharks plummeted and won the lottery with the traded pick. Nobody expected that to happen at the time of the trade, and you have to look at the trade through the lens of the Sharks before all of that.

This trade isn't a loss either. Karlsson with no retention doesn't have a ton of value, so most of the return will come from how much you retain. The Sharks are getting a couple of 1sts worth of value and a couple of 2nds worth of value.

Hard disagree. Maximize value for superstars. Don’t settle. That is how you win.

What is your idea of not settling? Karlsson with 0 retention for 6 1sts? You have to be realistic about the potential return otherwise you don't ever find a buyer and get nothing. This is an incredibly fair and realistic trade offer that benefits both teams.

Dont take it to an extreme to support your agenda. Did I ever say no retention. Converse like an adult of or enjoy my ignore list. I don’t entertain children on the internet.

What is your idea of a realistic offer with retention, if this isn't it? This offer is easily 2+ 1sts and some minor assets worth of value, so how much would you need to make this level of retention worth it?
