this is one of my fav Avs ACGMs in a minute and is pretty similar to one I've been tinkering with. I hate hate HATE losing Toews, so I've been trying to find alternatives but the rest is similar.

I think Hathaway would be great, but it seems like an almost guarantee that Kovalenko will come and play with the Avs in the playoffs in a bottom-6 role. The Avs could easily use that spot on JLF and Olausson who are waivers exempt, or a waiver wire pickup. That's an extra million in the bank.

I like Eller but he shouldn't step up to 3C. If the avs don't feel comfortable with Meyers at 4C, Eller should be your option.

I have no feelings about Sharangovich, and I would be happy with him as an Av, but if the Avs were going to call all 31 other teams with that as their trade block, I think the Avs could probably do better.

I don't think the Avs are getting a good enough return in either trade.
