Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

Hellebuyck to LA, and getting the old backups back as a tandem. This isn't about trade value, I focused on what the roster could look like if Chevy sticks with the idea of a retool. I don't like Perfetti at 2C this season, but maybe he's ready. If not, there's some cap room even without buying out Schmidt, and the Jets have assets they could use to trade for one. Maybe they overpay our hometown Domi to swap C/LW positions as needed, or sign a more veteran free agent like Toews to mentor Perfetti. I think it's more likely that they spend a bit more money on an actual starting goaltender, and/or don't buy out Schmidt.

I would expect it to be a prospect, and I don't want to take the time to learn the caps prospect pool just for this AGM

I didn't want to start a fight about whether Byfield is available, but that would be the other piece I would want. Maybe a first, maybe another top prospect. There are lots of great young prospects in LA, and I don't want to argue about which ones are included

Dillon needs to be moved. You're right that my trade isn't good value for the Jets though. The same argument could be made about any of my other moves

It will be interesting to see what they do with LD in the offseason. I don't think they will move Dillon, though that would be the easiest asset to trade given his style of play and cap hit. I can see Stanley being included as part of a larger package in a Dubois/Scheifele/Hellebuyck trade and that would leave Capobianco and Heinola (still waivers exempt according to capfriendly) trying to unseat Samberg/being a healthy scratch.

one for one trades are fun and assuming Kuzy would be willing to waive, I think a Kuzy-Schiefle swap with maybe a second tier prospect going to WPG makes a ton of sense for both teams

LA can't afford either guy. And unless an extension is already agreed upon I highly doubt LA moves much of anything for one or 2 guys that have asked out of winnipeg.

If LA is trading those 3 assets and picks/ prospects not on the NHL roster already; they would have about $5m to sign 6 players to fill out the roster. One of those guys would be Vilardi and he'd take about half of the remaining cap by himself. Leaving $2m for one 4th line winger, a 3rd pairing LHD, a 7th Dman and (2) spare forwards. So it is highly unlikely that LA can afford both Winnipeg players even with Helle at 50%. The math just doesn't add up. Let alone killing LAs depth making them a two line team and still not tough enough to play against Edmonton and Vegas.
