What exactly has Lafreniere done in 3 years to warrent getting the 5th ova pick? He is still young and does have the potential to be a good player but that is a bigger risk than just drafting Michkov or another prospect. If Laf had put up 50 points or something in any single year then maybe you could argue that he still has tip line ceiling but as of right now in a "what have you done for me lately" league he is not worth a top 15 pick.

So by tougher you mean easier to play against? Laf / kakko and chytil are all at least 6'0 and Laf is actually the smallest but plays the heaviest.
Chytil 1:1 vs PLD, Its actually close enough that you have to think about it.
We're moving miller and replacing him with Xhekaj but that means you now have harpur in the lineup, whos absolutely terrible.

The team now has 3 firsts in a great draft, but 2 of those picks wouldn't play until 2024 at minimum, and youve got a roster loaded with vets.
I'd rather ship panarin/kreider out for First rd picks.

Actually I meant to add a Ranger 3rd going to Montreal also. Gorton guy. He could want him. Of the Rangers youth he's got the most upside. Hasn't exploded onto the scene as quickly as others but he's got a nose for the puck and has a knack of being in the right place. Good instincts. Unfortunately he's blocked by Kreider and Bread on his natural left side.

You couldn't be more wrong. We're trading our good youth to bring in great youth. PLD is only 24 and is one of the top young centers in the league. And half the roster is still younger players. You don't win anything with a roster that's too young. Only Lucic is old but he adds desperately needed toughness. Acciari and Marchessault play with high end speed and tenacity. Other qualities we need. Don't be so narrow minded. The only point I agree is with Oth. But I'd give him a shot because he's a tenacious player. We need more players who bust their ass every shift, not aloof players like Kreider and Chytil who completely disappear for games at a time

a 3rd round pick would still not get it done. This 5th pick is very valuable and it would cost a proven star to get that pick. Add in your own 1st rounder and it still doesn't get the deal done

You keep giving reasons as to why Hughes/Gorton might be interested but still have not provided any evidence as to why Laf is worth 5th OVA. Don't worry everyone here already knows he isn't worth it so you won't look silly for admitting that he has done nothing to warrant 5th OVA.
