Description
Because no one on here agrees on value for Colton via trade, lets say Tampa lets him walk and don't qualify him (which won't happen) they go full UFA then. and for those who think he's resigning on a team friendly deal.... it would have been done already.. hes got arbitration written all of him.

can you provide opinion on why.. both contracts are posted on the athletic as possible parameters for their next contracts? the average for BBQ projected is 4 years 4.25 (i went longer allowing to lower the cap which is normal for teams) and reimer anything around a million

Is longer supposed to go lower? Thought it was supposed to go higher if you provided a longer term. Cap Ceiling doesn't go down...it goes up.

Toronto has the Core 4, but Tampa has the Magnificent 7.

100% agreed on RC. I've posted a few trades with RC (and the dumps you have above) to CHI with a pick/prospect going back. That way Killer can be extended and get a pick for the future at the same time. It got shot down pretty hard by TBL fans.

Jeannot and Barbashev won't sign those deals. Jeannot is worth at least 1.5, and Barbashev is going to get a massive deal after the playoffs he just had. Brisebois often waits until the start of ufa or later to announce new deals on more valued players, so there's nothing that indicates Colton isn't re-signing. Tampa should also upgrade from Fleury at 3LD, as he's terrible and not an every game regular to be counted on.

IDK, Barbashev might if it's a 1 year deal and he doesn't find what he's looking for in the market. Only $1M in cap increase leaves a lot of teams already strapped. With the Cap supposedly jumping next year...he might simply find a good home for 1 year to elevate his play and potential for a larger deal the following summer. Vegas and TBL seem like good places to sit for 1 year.

Seab is LTIR - if insurance pays? AZ i guess fine on taking it for AHL/bottom pair D and 7th.

There’s going to be lots of interest for both of those players around the whole league, may not so much Reiner I think he would definitely take a 1.5 million deal with Tampa but BBQ I think gets a bidding war for around 6/7 years at 5 million he’s not worth it but had a great playoffs won the cup and the FA market is severely thin. Tampa does have the advantage of no tax but will still need to pay a bit more to get them

Terrible for him and for Tampa. There are teams that will line up to pay him 5x5. There's very little reason to have to "bet on himself" for a year, he's already placed that winning bet and now it's time for the payout. He could also very easily not care as much about going to a contender, as he has two Cups already as well. For Tampa, it's losing at minimum several years of Colton(probabaly more), for one year of Barbashev. Even if somehow Barby took a bad deal for himself, there's absolutely 0 chance that Tampa could re-sign him after the upcoming season. Tampa will be using the projected cap increase to re-up Hagel and Stamkos, so there would be no room at all for Barbashev. Tampa isn't at a point where it's one last run left with this core, so there's no reason to be approaching the offseason that way.
