Description

This was a bit of a gongshow to put together and I know already the LA trade is probably WAY off...so try and cut me a little slack LA fans but I do want your feedback! Who would you give up for Hellebuyck (50% retained) & Dubois?

The WSH trade was also a bit of a mess and I know my value is probably totally off.

Signing Hill is risky and I was debating between him and Jarry...I don't know what our other options would be?

Either way, this is different from what I normally propose, just wanted to have some fun and try and find some different trade partners.

Let's say for the sake of argument, Hellebyuck walks and Dubois demands a trade after year 1 which he's already done with 2 different clubs. Kings give up all that for basically 2 rentals? Don't think so..

That's my bad, I should have made that more clear...I made this trade under the assumption that they would be extended by LA. Although don't get me wrong...I realize my trade is most likely off value-wise.

I don't think the Kings would entertain that trade because of the uncertainty of the two staying after year 1 and because the price would be too steep.

Fair enough...that's why I like LA as a target for WPG, they have so many good young roster players and prospects. Any trade would absolutely hurt LA's future.

PLD is hard to work for LA. The current contract ask from his camp is rumoured to be ~8.9M, and the Kings can’t make that work without gutting their depth for cap space, never mind what else they potentially give up to acquire him. Even with Hellebuyck 50% retained it’d be quite the challenge for the Kings to fit that cap in and still remain competitive in the west.

I like him as a stand-alone player, don’t get it twisted, but he’s just tough to make work.

I like the Dubois trade, maybe throwing in a prospect wouldn't be a horrible idea, like the uncertainty of some of the Jets prospects especially on D could be beneficial for both teams. Even possibly Harkins who would really add grit and stability as a third/fourth line impact player.

Gonna have to disagree with you on that one....Scheifele > Kuznetsov by quite a bit but agree that maybe the other pieces aren't the right ones for either side.

Weird...I'd be jumping all over this if I were a WSH fan since their getting the superior player. Agree that the other piece might not be the best targets though.

Not really. Schiefele is really overrated. At worst they are the same: all offense no defense. But if Kuz is on his game, which hopefully Carbery can get out of him, Kuz is better.

I'm not even a huge Scheifele fan but I don't think you'll get too many people who agree Kuznetsov is better than Scheif...all you have to do is go to their hockeydb pages. Both are not strong defensively but Scheifele scores a lot more than Kuzy.
