Its going to take over 5 million to scare the Rangers off. Think 5.5 million

Hill is getting 4+ million x 4 years from someone unless he tanks the rest of the playoffs. He has risen to the best available FA goalie at this point

Don't think that will be enough to get DeBrincat in a sign and trade

Like I said in the previous thread, we'll give you DeBrincat for Teuvo + Canes' 2024 1st + Flyers' 2024 2nd.

There's no guarantee that Teuvo will come with an extension that's acceptable to Ottawa.

And Teuvo might not take a pay cut to play in Ottawa either.

I've seen multiple ACGM where this is the exact asking price from Sens fans

So you want basically2 late 1sts and a half a point a game player for Cat... stop. Cat doesn't even have a contract for next season. At least Teuvo is signed. Maybe Carolina's pick, or the Philly 3rd.

Okay so if Tuevo doesn't want to sign a contract you can flip him at the trade deadline for more prospects

The Rangers don't have the cap space to fill out a roster, give Miller his extension, give Laf anything above $2.5m

That's not an ideal situation for Ottawa.

It's ok.

We'll just trade DeBrincat to Washington then.

It is enough... A half-a-point per game player, a late first, and 2 third-round picks seems like about the right return

Or we just trade DeBrincat to Washington for Lapierre + 40OA + their 2024 1st.

The entire Caps fanbase in ACGM is ready and willing to just that.

Thank you for thinking of us though.

That doesn't matter if Cat won't sign there. Do you really think he'd want to commit to a team long-term that would have him on the 2nd line and possibly not even on the top powerplay unit of a team that is heavily declining? I guess they can pay all of that for Cat to take his QO and walk away as a UFA next summer...

Again for him pre-signed, you are looking at a Tkachuk-lite package and that's not it

Exactly... DeBrincat would probably get top-line minutes and top PP minutes in Carolina... that wouldn't happen in Washington

No, you aren't... He's nowhere near the caliber of Tkachuk and DeBrincat has a lot of leverage not Ottowa

I don't see the sens getting two 1st for cat when they only gave up one last year. And it's not like he had an insane year

He's a tier below Tkachuk, not arguing that. Hence why I said Tkachuk-lite package. Clearly you underestimate how much leverage Tkachuk had in Calgary if you are trying to argue DeBrincat's leverage in Ottawa. I'm a Flames fan, I literally lived through this a year ago, I know exactly what kind of leverage DeBrincat has right now

Yeah... this is a Tkachuk lite package... a first, a top-six guy, a multiple thirds for a guy who had a down year

2 1sts does not equal 7th OA... Do you think the 7th OA pick this year to St. Louis for #25 and #29?

It doesn't make a difference to Ottawa what Washington does with DeBrincat.

Washington wants to pay Lapierre + 40OA + 2024 1st and Ottawa accepts.

Nothing else to it.

lol what? Tkachuk returned the 2nd highest producing player in the league (rental), one of the best 2-way defensemen in the league (also a rental), a 1st, and a B prospect. You are offering like 30 maybe 40% of what Tkachuk got, when realistically DeBrincat should get 70-75% of that return in value

Tuevo is a very good defensive forward and a great set-up man... that plus a first and a couple of thirds is equal to the value of the RFA rights of DeBrincat

Tkachuk had a great year the year before he got sold... DeBrincat did not... My return is a very reasonable return for a small forward who scored 66 points last season
