What makes anyone think Matthews would actually want to go to the worst franchise in the entire league? A team that's so bad it got kicked out of the arena it was playing in. A team that would've moved to another city years ago if stubborn Gary Bettman would let it.

Never finished last in the league, so worst team is quite the comical leap. Also not even remotely what happened with Glendale but I see this repeated enough that clearly no one cares. Arizona has had more playoff success in the cap era than the leafs, so there’s that. Not even getting into how comically horrible this trade is for Arizona

What makes anyone think the Yotes would accept this either? They're clearly tanking for picks and prospects in order to maybe make a push in like 5 years. Why on earth would they trade most of what they're trading in this scenario?

Nobody said Arizona would accept it and I'm pretty sure the vast majority would agree they wouldn't. The problem is all these unthinking Leafs fans who assume that because he's from there the Coyotes will do something really stupid and give the Leafs anything they ask for in return for Matthews.
