Great trade for both teams. Doubt it would happen though.

It’s an awful deal for Ottawa. All those pieces for a centreman who in reality would be their 2LW. Their prospect pool is already extremely shallow, they have no way to replace the pieces they’d give up internally. Not to mention there is no way they would make Dubois the highest paid player on the team by giving him the money he’s asking for.

Add the fact the team ownership is not terminate and done yet which mean no big trade in the near future.

PLD won't go for that much. He will go for a similar return that every other forward went for, which is a 1st, then some combo of 2nds, 3rds B prospects.

Sens aren't moving Pinto or Greig. Pinto is a 10.2(c) RFA, which means he can only sign with Ottawa. Players in that position usually are forced to sign for well below market value, or for their QO. Greig is still on his ELC. The Sens need both those contracts to help ice a competitive lineup under the cap or their budget.

Players almost never go for full value. On top of that, Columbus could not secure a good enough return for Dubois last time around and was forced to go with their fallback of trading him for Laine, who was damaged goods at the time. That was when Dubois had multiple years of team control, he now only has 1.

He will go go Montreal for the FLA pick and a few other pieces. Maybe Winnipeg takes Dvorak to trap a roster player there for a few years.

If Ottawa is moving out a guy cuz he's costing 9M, they aren't bringing a guy who's costing 9M... I know I'd rather have PLD, but their ownership situation isn't going to let them do this.

But let's say they did, just Pinto and Greig would be enough.
