ARI TRADE: getting our 2nd round pick back

THEN bring a gun to the nego with WPG (won't happen because KH seems like a class act).

This line-up is sexy doh.

Don't think Habs will want to trade Barron, being one of our only RD, but we can include Norlinder instead maybe?

If we get PLD - I expect that they will draft Reinbacher. Our top 6 would be close to complete at this point. our LHD is set, our Monty is looking good in net : only the RHD is missing.

With PLD, this pick becomes top 15 probably or at worst top 10. But the chances of finding a PLD type center at 10 is smaller. It's a risk (aka SJS), but worth the price I believe.

The Jets almost certainly accept the compensation that includes Montreal's unprotected 24 1st.

But Montreal doesn't have their 24 2nd do they?

The trade would be in the running as well.

Look at the first trade... they were gaining back their 2nd pick... with AZ

Not that Arizona would give up a high 2nd for that.

It's a gamble for sure! but I don't think that the habs will end up in the botton 10 with this line-up. Last year, the team was plague with injuries and adding a top 6 C and having the kids a year older makes the habs more competitive - but still out of the playoffs until the Dcore is mature enough (Ghule, Mailloux, Harris, Hutson)

Healthy at the start of last year, the habs were gunning for a wild card spot until litterally EVERYONE got injured except Suzuki (after its Kovacevic at 77gp and Anderson at 66 gp.)

I think the trade itself is more likely than an OS - its just bad business.

However - you got to agree that the last comments from PLD's agent is not helping WPG sell high.

Meh, a deal could be made when ARI has like 10 2nd round pick... it could be a LHD prospect etc.

I don't think his comments make a difference. We've all been assuming PLD is being traded this summer anyways. Nothing he said yesterday changed that. Other than Brisson being willing to help the Jets work on a trade to a team where he wants to extend. By the way, he didn't say only to Montreal, so presumably he has a few teams he's willing to extend with.

Oh guaranteed - MTL is always there for the summer to see his family.

He gets an offer of 8M$ to play in a big market in Cali or Florida (etc.) and he signs. While I'm sure he'd love to play for MTL, He is not declining option to play in paradise.

and I won't blame him for it - get out of pratice in flip-flop and head to the golf course... the dream.

Well that offer sheet would be something! But I think Kent is too much of a gentleman to do it. Would PLD sign it? Then WPG would take the picks.
What happens if PLD doesn't sign it? Nothing?
