I really like that Marner trade. The Devils get unequivocally the best player in the deal. And they give up Meier who will have a ridiculous next contract because of the RFA qualifying rules and Nemec helps balance out the value. Plus, Robertson is really good for the Devils and would slot in nicely to provide some good scoring for the team. Filip Kral is a decent depth option for them too

Marner would surely walk from NJ in 2 years and the difference between between Meier and Marner isn't maybe the best D prospect in the world
