Necas scored more than Debrincat this year in a harder defensive system. Pass. It wasn’t an outlier that Cat’s numbers fell in a more defensive system either

That bertuzzi is bad all around and we aren’t carrying 6 million of cap space

lol I doubt we can get Necas for ADB. Yes the cat is more proven but he's going to cost more money and that impacts player's value a lot these days



Did you refer the Sens defensive system as a "more defensive system"??? DJ Smith's teams can't play defense to save their lives, yeah even worse than Chicago who were just lacking talent

Cmon Ottawa played more defense than Debrincat and Kane flying the zone every second to create a rush, leaving their teammates out to dry until the finally got back to the zone.

Ottawa’s problem is their defense isn’t good outside of the top 3 and the goalies aren’t great.

I like the idea of the Hurricanes getting an offensive winger like Debrincat but getting rid of our top scorer this year for a guy who had a down year doesn't make me happy

I doubt Ottawa wants more draft picks IMO. I can't see Carolina and Ottawa being very good trade partners unless the Sens sold low. Maybe a team like the Islanders or even Edmonton?

I doubt any team that wants DeBrincat is going to want to part with the kind of roster pieces that Ottawa is going to want for DeBrincat... they are most likely only going to get prospects and picks

You might be right but if a team offers a young but unproven roster player (Wahlstrom NYI, Rasmussen/Berggren DET) with any combo of picks or prospects, it could be more enticing to a team that is looking to make a playoff push right now

Coaching has no idea how to play 2-way hockey and their hockey systems are severely lacking

I mean I don't see that as happening but it's definitely a possibility. I see DeBrincat being dealt for something in the realm of a first, a couple of seconds, and some good prospects
