I'm with brother @LosPatos in being glad that it's not another recycled NHL retread like LaViolette or Boudreau, etc. but share his reservations about the front office's optimism.

I think it's good to have someone like Bednar or Hakstol that's a departure from the usual rut. I just hope he's not going to require the first failure before finding success with his second team, like Hakstol.

I hope we see some serious effort to nail down at least one quality defenseman on either side long-term. I don't care whether it's R or L. Gavrikov, Graves or Soucy would be nice. I know that Giggy would be happier with a RhD.

We probably won't make the playoffs in the next few years. Although Greg Cronin is a nobody rn. After hearing how passionate and how he prioritises development, he will definitely help the new guard blossom. When one of them mentioned their interview went for 4.5 hrs (brain explosion emoji). Greg Cronin will probably be our coach until Matt McIlvane is ready (AHL coach).

From what I've read on Twitter, looks like we've got ourselves a good egg who will bring out the best in the young core.
