Gotta give up a decent prospect along with that 2nd for Durzi. McIssac would probably do.

This is a good option for the Kings to pursue.

I also think the Kings would like to use the Romanov trade as a basis for a Durzi trade. A 1st for Durzi and a 3rd.

Either would work for me. But OP, your original trade is not enough to entice LA.

Romanov was younger, bigger, with a significantly higher ceiling and more years of control remaining before becoming a UFA.

While I would love to get a 1st for Durzi, I don't think that's warranted.

I don't think he gets a #13OA pick (so Detroit is clearly not the right team), but Durzi has proved to be more reliable in terms of production that Romanov who hasn't QUITE lived up to the ceiling he was expected to. But if you're looking at a team like the Blues, who have picks that will be in the mid 20's, I think the drop-off in value from #13 to there is about the correct drop-off in value to Durzi for the reasons you mention.

Romanov is also not the defensive liability that Durzi is.

What Romanov makes up in defensive capability when compared to Durzi, he at least matches that in net loss for offensive capability. Trade-offs.

Durzi has his flaws, for sure. But he's still a 40+ point right-handed defenseman you can place on a 2nd or 3rd pair that can run a top power-play. Many teams could really use that.

I agree. I just don't think it's worth a 1st.

Fair enough. I'm hoping that it is, especially if the Kings follow the rest of the Romanov trade and incentivize with the Penguins 3rd rounder.

Sure. Detroit has 17,485 LD so we can afford to trade McIssac

I like this idea of adding Durzi and taking back the Peterson contract.

I'm all for getting Keller to Detroit, but I still think it would be 2 1's, a 2, plus McIssac and Lombardi or Mazur.

Mazur a nonstarter, I'd included Lombardi for a top 3 forward

100% agree, I wouldn't move Mazur. I was saying I think that is closer to the cost of getting Keller than what OP posted.

2 firsts(including Detroit’s in 2024), a 2nd, and a B prospect is a solid package for Keller(if he’s moved). That’s significantly more than DeBrincat got last year for very similar production levels before the trades or potential trade.
Cat in 21/22- 41 goals- 37 assists
Keller in 22/23- 37 goals - 49 assists

Again, you just don't understand context....comparing Keller to DeBrincat simply makes no sense.

Please explain it to me then… I know Keller’s contract makes him more valuable, but that’s where the extra 1st comes in…

"That's where the extra 1st comes in"????

You just simply don't understand context or value...You think ARZ is gonna give up Keller for an extra 1st?

Kasper/Edvinsson, one of the later 1sts and another middling prospect is what a trade for Keller would look like. Idk what else to tell you.

Yes, but it would have to be a higher end prospect, and I am not giving up Kasper, Edvinsson, Cossa, or Mazur. Would have to be Wallinder, Johansson, or Lombardi most likely.

It's not just Keller fore a first though. Its 2 firsts(including Detroit's in 2024), a 2nd, and a B level prospect.
The difference in your proposal and mine is Kasper or Edvinsson VS unprotected Detroit 1st in 2024 AND a second this year. I'll add Lombardi and ARZ adds a 3rd if that helps. I understand if its not a good fit or if you'd rather have the player over the pick but its not an issue of value.
