Because JJ is already a young player who plays on our second line and the Sabres don't need Kylington. He would be a third pair at best behind Samuelson, Dahlin, and Power.

JJ is a part of the Sabes young core, they are not going to move him just to move him.

Its the same issue i have with all the marner trades that involve nashville. Our center depth is buns and tieing up all that cap in wingers (26 million including forsberg, duchene, and huberdeau) would hamstring fixing our more pressing issues. Duchene hasnt been a center in 3 seasons and the rare time he filled in didnt look good.

Why would Washington ever do that? Strome is a Center, produces nearly as much as Toffoli (based on this years STATs), is five years younger, and just signed a five year contract extension at similar money to what Toffoli makes now?

I would pass, peterka isn't available for anything reasonable. Tanev would be the d that makes the most sense for us- we need a defensive first d that is right handed. Kylington doesn't do much for me, hanifin and andersson would cost too much, and I'm not sure with how many lefties we have already, if hanifin even makes sense.
