Take out Ehlers and Perfetti and retain 50% on Marner. Marner doesn't have much value to most teams at full cap hit.

Moving down 5 spots in the draft is better than buying out Murray and then having a cap hit for doing so the next 2 years

I find it difficult to see a team where Marner is a fit, the best place for him is in Toronto but maybe one of Carolina, Pittsburgh or Washington could be a fit Idk.

The trade makes no sense from a Jets perspective, even though Marner is the best player in that trade. A team that’s a contender and is looking for a first line right winger would be a better fit. There’s lots of teams that make sense for Marner, however the Jets aren’t one of them.

Yeah, if all other 31 teams were contenders or Marner was guaranteed to stay longer than 2 years. The Jets are heading towards a rebuild whether they like it or not and they need prospects, picks, and young players, like Perfetti. Marner isn’t going to magically turn this team into a contender when they also lose 2 top 6 players in the process of acquiring him. Like I said before, there’s a ton of teams that would be interested in Marner, but not Winnipeg or similar teams that need to or are in a rebuild.

You've seen some of my proposals, I'm not going to sit all day in front of cap friendly, making multiple deals. Fact remains, Leafs will not give Marner away for free, they'd rather keep him, and I guarantee that there are teams that would want him.
