I'd do that from a Detroit perspective...

I would be ok with 9th + 17th for 5th but not adding anything else to that deal.

The rest of this makes no sense, why trade back 3 more spots from 9th to 12th just to add a 2nd and 3rd? We need as many 1sts as we can get not 2nds and 3rds.

I don't think that would be a very good trade for Detroit, but if they were willing to do that, I'd accept. The pick trades that I have here are the worst ones that I would be willing to accept.
2nds and 3rds are the most underrated draft picks in my opinion. Last year, in what was considered a below average draft, Montreal picked up both Beck and Hutson in the 2nd round. If they can pick up another prospect in 2024 on the same level as either of those players, it's well worth whatever drop in quality there is between 9 and 12 in this draft. Picking back to back at 69/70 in this draft allows Montreal to add a high quality goaltending prospect without having to pass on the skater they would have taken otherwise.

We would not.

Kudos to you for being realistic and reasonable about Detroit's needs, fit and value. You are a welcome breath of fresh air compared to most Habs ACGMs on here, that completely ignore that and try to fleece everyone else
