Description
Now is the time you leverage your cap space and us some draft capital to move up and add pick in the 1st round. I know a bunch of ppl will hate this but its for fun but can happen. All 3 of these teams really need cap space and i could see wanting to move on from all these players. Some of the players going the other way are there for just sending a player back they can easily get flipped around or changed. This is not likely to happen but i believe the blackhawks want to trade up and would be looking for Oliver Moore @ 11th OA. And would Probably look at a RHD @ 19 OA - maybe Reinbacher if he falls there or Willander. They love players that can skate. They shocked everyone last year by trading for 3 - 1st rounders after not having any. I expect the aggressiveness again this year.

Canucks don't need to dump Pearson, and they certainly won't relinquish their 1st round pick to dump Myers. It won't cost anything more than a 3rd to dump Myers (with retention).

Yes but they are moving back to receive a lot of draft capital for the future, not dumping Myers for there 1st this is a bigger deal than dumping Myers. Fans seem to overvalue there own players. I wasn't sure about Pearson figure if they can move his money that would be good for them. THEY NEED CAP SPACE!

Pearson probably won't play a game in the NHL again due to his lingering hand injury. He's prob on LTIR until his contract expires.

The Nucks have been quite adamant that they will draft somebody with their pick. Highly unlikely they move the pick unless it's a great deal. They've been actively replenishing their prospect pool.

Why on earth would CHI give TOR two draft picks and Entwhistle for the honor of taking Murray off their hands

A vocal subset of the Caps fans on this site want to dump him, and their now ex-coach horribly mismanaged him and destroyed his confidence in the second half of the season. I haven’t seen anything that suggests the Caps management (which is still the same group that paid a huge price for him not even a year and a half ago) wants to move on from him, let alone is willing to pay to get rid of him.

They're keeping him to see what the new coach can do with him. With the right coach giving him good teammates he'll tear it up.

Right now the caps have 17 players signed for next season and only have 7.3 mil in cap space. So i would have to believe they need to move a contract. I get Kuzy is probably going to be moved. I would assume they would be getting a roster player back with a solid cap hit so you aren't going to gain a lot from getting rid of Kuzy.

1) Trade Kuzy to Colorado for their 1st (Kuzy passes through Arizona for ~2M retention with the Caps and Avs each throwing in a pick/prospect in return)

2) Call up McMichael and Malenstyn to play 2C and 4LW respectively

3) Sign Fehervary, say 2 years at a 2.5M cap hit

End result is the Caps have 11M in cap room with 11F, 6D, and 2G on the roster. Plenty of room to add a 2RW and a few healthy scratches. If you think the Caps get a roster player back for Kuzy for around the same cap hit, then that player slots into 2RW and they have 3.2M for healthy scratches. Either way, the Caps don't have a desperate need to dump Mantha unless it's specifically to create room to replace him, which they've shown no indication they want to do.

Well thought out. How do you know Avs even want Kuzy. They can probably get Monahan for cheap in free agency and than be able to add another forward or 2 to make them deeper.

2C is their obvious weakness, and the options in free agency are awful. They'd be taking a huge gamble on Monahan's health. O'Reilly's the only solid option, but he's likely going to end up overpaid since he's the only safe top 6 center on the market. Otherwise they could run it back with Compher and overpay for his career year, or go for a similar middle six tweener like Haula. If not the Avs, maybe the Blue Jackets in a similar deal for the Kings' 1st? There's always teams looking for help at center and with the FA market so rough, someone's gonna want Kuzy.
