I'm not trying to trade him. I never said he was worth anything in particular. But he is absolutely worth way more than this offer to the Blues. The Blues already have Perunovich anyway. They don;t need D depth. They need to replace one or both of their top 4 LDs. And NOT with a small guy who can't defend. They need someone with muscle and inclination to clear the crease.

Nobody is asking for 1sts or 2nds. We're perfectly happy with a goal scoring winger in our top 6 at that cap hit. If he doesn't work out next season or we are completely out of it and can't afford to re-sign him we can trade him at the deadline. But Ty Smith is completely redundant for the Blues who have Krug and Perunovich already needing to be on the NHL roster when healthy.

If the time arises, it's pretty conceivable to imagine Vrana would bring back more than a 3rd if he were to be traded at the deadline.

If he's not moved at the deadline all the better because that means he's probably worked out well for us here.
