Ya I think the squad needed bring trotz in last summer as president and figure out the goings on of the squad for the year, can Chevy and possibly take on the roll, make some moves. Place like Winnipeg has to figure out that they need to act more like a junior hockey team, build a nucleus, take a few runs, trade the value away for picks, and do it again. Montreal Expos used to be a feeder system for MLB. I used to hate seeing them basically giving their players away but they knew they couldn't keep anyone. Maybe the Jets do something similar and hope it all comes together for a season like it did for the Expos in 1994. Would've won the World Series that year if the season weren't canceled in my opinion.

They are far from busts as they have limited ice time and are very effective when on the ice. The Goodrow contract; while most on here claim is a dump he would actually fetch assets but let’s pretend not for arguments sake.. his buyout gives NYR more cap than allowed for the next 2 seasons, the 3rd year is 1M cap hit, 4th is the only big one at 3.6m and then 4 years of 1M. By the time that 3.6 hits the cap will be in the 95m range and all those big NMC contracts are gone too. For these reasons they won’t pay to “dump” him, in fact any team up against the cap would unlikely but possibly pay to buy him out if they needed the additional cap space for the next 2 seasons. Goodrow has had his best seasons playing on our 4th line. The Kane/senko situation is definitely a factor if either come at a nice discount
