Mostly because the Habs don't really have a need for Olausson, as we have more than enough good young wingers on the roster already. They would just keep their pick, hoping to use them in a much bigger trade, or draft players they like themselves. Plus, in a 2021 redraft, Olausson probably doesn't even get out in the 1st round...so that value is a bit off in my opinion.

I would think Rangers would match that immediately for Laffy.

Olausson isn't worth a lot right now, it would be a buy-low situation with a rebuilding team doubtful to give up future assets for him.

I think ROR would get more from whatever team he chooses, I would also be a little nervous about that term since he seems to be slowing down quickly.

I could see EJ signing for league minimum, he knows he's been overpaid recently for sure.
