The value is fine for Saros but you can’t just dump both Samsonov and Murray on us when we don’t have space for both. Move them elsewhere

No way the avalanche take on Taves contract, even with the retention.

seems like reasonable enough value for Marner, considering where everything's at with DeBrincat, but the Sens just wouldn't have the space to make it work.

It's pie in the sky. But if any team is a perfect fit for JT, it's Colorado. With Landeskog on LTIR and a hole in the 2nd C spot, it's a great landing spot for him if he decides to waive his NMC. And Colorado can't do better on the free agency market. JT at 8 million is great value.

But the Avs don't have 8 mil in cap space to fit him. Landeskog will be back at some point and come off LTIR.

I think it's a great trade for both sides and would reignite the rivalry.

He's gone for the rest of next season, and if he comes back the Avs can flip JT at next year's draft.

Seems like a huge risk on the Avs part. I just don't see it. Not saying the value is bad. Just saying it could handcuff the Avs if anything doesn't go exactly to plan.

No way the Avs take that deal, youd have to have the pick going the other way.

If money wasn't retained, sure. But retaining 3 million makes the trade more even.

3 mill retained still means the Avs need to eat 8mil Tavares for 2 more years... that's not worth Newhook and a 1st at all.

Doesn’t look like it man Landeskog is probably gonna retire looking like a klefbom situation sadly

JT is not a total scrub. He's a PPG in the regular season, and he'll be playing behind MacKinnon, alongside more physical players like Nishuskin who can compliment his game. And the Avs will have to fill that second line hole somehow.

Most of those points came in blowout games, not elimination games. Marner just can't score when it really counts.

Matthews is the playoff thorn in the side. He's the only one of the 3 that doesn't look like he wants to win come playoff time.

he scored the gwg to avoid the sweep. Was producing very consistently all tampa series blowout or not. You're just using classic leafs jargon.

i mean he willed us to the Tampa series win. And just because he didn't score doesn't mean he wasn't getting some amazing looks that were robbed or doing so much more in the playmaking/defending department.

His performance isn't why I think he should be traded, it's the contract situation. If he will re-sign early in the summer, great.

RoR would be a better fit and has a game that will bring some benefit when his offense fully dries up. JT is a little slow for the Avs but would be a fun fit. Better character than other center trade options. Newhook, Merkley and a 1st for JT at 50% would be more manageble. Still might handcuff GMCM when Toews needs a deal and I value Toews more than adding JT and having to budget to replace Toews next summer.

I just watch the games. And Marner doesn't have it in crunch time. Neither does Matthews.

STOP SENDING MARNER TO OTTAWA. For the same reasons you want to trade him, we don't want him.

The value is quite reasonable.

I already wanted to trade DeBrincat and he's the main piece to get Marner here

Trading yet another 1st round pick is not ideal but what can you do? When you've been stuck with a GM like Dorion for 7 years, at some point you have no choice to bleed assets

I love Brannstrom and he's the piece here that I find the hardest to part with but you have to give to get

What would a Sens roster lineup look like?

Tkachuk - Stutzle - Marner : probably becomes the best line in the league. Playing with these 2 could even spark more fight in Marner

Joseph - Norris - Batherson : Norris-bath is a lethal duo, Joseph adds speed and a 2-way game that would help Batherson to focus more on offense. Norris is a defensive stalwart so Bath would be in the ideal context

Greig - Pinto - Giroux : perfect mentor for Pinto and Greig. That line could be quite dangerous and excel defensively

Crookshank - Kastelic - Gauthier : good 4th line, a bit of everything. Kelly is the 13th guy but please no more Gambrell and Watson

This is an insane Top-9

Yea with a cheaper option who can skate and doesn't jeopardise the future of the team.
