This is how to move forward Allvin

Description
OEL Buyout:
I know Allvin said that they wouldn't go down this road, but they should for OEL. They just need him off the roster if they want to improve the blueline right away. It's a big financial hit for Aquilini, but he's the one pushing for the team to make the playoffs.

ANA Trade:
Fills needs for both teams. VAN gets some more cap space and a 3C, ANA gets a good, younger RW and a stop-gap RD for one year at $1 mill actual salary.

Signings:
-Brought in Graves as a solid, all-around 2LD.
-Hill will provide some solid backup goalie starts and proved he can hold the fort for a while if Demko gets injured.
-Stecher and Burroughs back on cheap deals to play limited minutes, but hopefully they get pushed by guys on the farm.
-Gave Bear a 2-year 'prove-it' deal.

Cap Outlook:
-Enough space to absorb Pearson's contract if he comes back off LTIR this season.
-Plenty of room next season for Petey and Hronek extensions while filling out the rest of the roster.
-The following two years carry a big buyout penalty for OEL, but the core will already be locked up and some of the younger guys should be able to provide cheap, effective minutes.

For this Season:
-Dramatically improved D and goaltending, with better positional balance at forward.

When Boston stops laughing hysterically they say no, then start laughing again.

I hope this was a troll post.

Nope. I assume you're valuing Swayman much higher than this. My reasoning is that;
a) Reilly is coming with him as a negative value cap dump, and
b) goalies generally don't garner huge value in trade returns.

Having said that, I know Swayman would be highly sought after so the return would probably be a bit higher for him. Do you see BOS being able to re-sign him with their cap situation?

Interesting, showing some ideas that are at least different from the "trade JT Miller" trope.

But.

You're not getting Swayman in a deal like that. And I imagine the Bruins will move Ullmark before they move Swayman.

You're low on Schenn, and way low on Graves.

I'd be surprised if Anaheim wasn't on Myers' NTC list, and I don't think Boeser is a Verbeek-type player.

Absolutely no chance Boston would do that, and the Canucks don’t really need Swayman anyways. But it would definitely take more than that, even if we’re taking back Rielly

You’ve heard of buyout right? Reilly cap hit via buyout this year is 333k. Not paying to move him.

Yes they have no problem being able to sign Swayman. Wether or not they can keep Ullmark once they do remains to be seen.

Honestly, the Swayman deal was a bit of an add-on in this post. The goal was just to improve the backup goalie position, so they could just as easily spend the money on a capable UFA backup and keep their pick and extra cap space.

If I'm low on Schenn, then let him sign somewhere else. I would pay more for Graves, but I'm curious to see where his number lands.

As for the ANA deal, I had a few Ducks fans agreeing to it in another post the other day. Strome is a bit redundant for them now as they have fantastic young centre depth.

Strome doesn't scream Verbeek style player any more the Border, and he really hasn't adapted that well to the wing. With the addition of Fantilli, hea now very expendable.

Anaheim was on Kulikivs NTC as well, but the threat of getting waived and claimed by someone even less desireable might encourage Meyers to pack his flip flops and sunscreen for a season.

Made some edits to the lineup based on your comments. Still a big improvement over last year and an even better cap situation this season without the BOS trade.
