Jets decline. Pionk’s had a couple of rough seasons in comparison to his first 2 as a jet. However, he’s still our 2nd best d-man and offensively, after Morrissey, he’s the only one we have.

He's got use as a shut down centre and wins alot of draws, just expensive.

You’re right, Jets do decline, but they shouldn’t. ownership only worried about getting to the playoffs to keep revenue coming in, fans deserve a better team. I know Nils is a downgrade presently but it’d be a nice fit down the road if they did what they should and rebuilt.

If I was Detroit I'd want to be paid to take another defensive forward at this point, not paying for one. Defense first forwards with limited offense are something they have a lot of, for much cheaper than Faksa

I wouldn't say we have alot of them. Veleno is meh, Zadina is meh, Suter is good but unsigned, Ras is good, Copp is good, Berggren, Fabbri and Kubalik aren't good defensively, Kasper we will see.
I'm hoping we keep Suter, he's underrated and is good on the PK. Veleno I don't know if he has the hockey IQ. Zadina is supposed to be a sniper but maybe could translate to a defensive forward, I don't think he could with his play style.
I would definitely take one or two more defensive forwards but would prefer someone more physical, we are too easy to play against. Hathaway, Acciari and Foligno are guys I like.
I would take Faksa though for free or receive slight compensation. He wins draws and is good on the PK. Just the faceoff ability alone I covet, we were 19th in the league on draws. Yes I know there is a team factor but the centre is the main part.
