Would love to get that for Mitchell, but highly doubt we will.

I really like a lot of the ideas here.

A few nits though...I don't see Mitchell bringing a 2nd. Honestly probably lucky to get a 3rd or even 4th at which point I just ride him into the failed prospect train station myself instead of giving him away and letting someone else have a shot at things clicking and him being a late bloomer. I might be open to flipping him for a similar forward prospect or if he moves the needle for someone in something bigger (say throwing in Lafferty with McCabe to net a 1st and 2nd type deal).

I think the Domi ship sailed when the Hawks won the lotto and Bedard. Two 5'10 190lb centers is not the right ingredients for the recipe I want to make. I would do Drouin for a year to give Bedard some skill to play with, but with the intent of pump and flip for a pick at the TDL. Doesn't help with the size thing, but a 1 year deal might be more realistic where Domi has been pretty good this year and will command a multi year deal..

I like the idea of Reaves, but at 36 I am not even thinking about giving him a 2nd year and that annual price is a little rich. Plenty of big boys that can stand up for a teammate out there, I would hope we can find one at 2.25 for 2 years that can actually play hockey which I am not so sure Reaves can any more.

I would just assume move on from Jones (even if his brother don't like it) and Bjork if that is their price tags.

Avoid DROUIN at all costs all the talent in the world with no guts no heart , lazy without the puck . He could not handle criticism or pressure and was uncoachable in TAMPA AND MONTREAL . This is not someone you want being an influence on a young player

I don't think resigning Domi will be dictated by the fact that we got the 1st overall pick. It will be dictated by whether he would rather go to a contender and play meaningful hockey this late in his career.

Jones, I'm fine with moving on from. But, I think you are too hard on Bjork. His QO is $1.8M. I would be all for giving him up to $2.5 for 2 or 3 years and seeing if he can keep up a similar pace like he played with when he came to CHI after the deadline. Not only did he put up 8 points in 14 games, but he looked great and like the embodiment of Davidsons vision while doing it.
