Kane & Tarasenko are $3.5-6.5kil/ur guys now

Nylander predominantly played in the 2nd line as well

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Jarnkrok/Knies-Tavares-Nylander

Nylander plays on the 2nd line, gets less power play time and still puts up much better numbers than either of those guys, and there is no way in hell eithrr kane or Tarasenko take less than 7 unless they get massive term which would be endlessly dumb

No, that not true at all. He's been middling to accepable most of his career

No what I said is absolutely true and you’re wrong. Dude the stats are right there lol. It’s black and white. I get it and you don’t watch Pettersson and want to believe all your players are gods while the other teams are nothing but cap dumps but you’re just wrong lol. If Toronto can’t come to terms on an extension for Nylander, they should absolutely consider this deal. It’s not that Nylander sucks. But his contract situation is an issue. And there are only a few teams that may pay a good return for him. And a young top 4 defensive defenseman should be on Toronto’s wish list.

You shouls really look at those stats again, this time factor in ice time and zone starts. Getting numbers on 2nd or 3rd pair time does not equal 1st pair time.
And no, this is an awful deal for the leafs, even if you pretend petterson is as vauable as nylander because they dont need a ld half as bad as they need nylander

Way to twist words and play gymnastics. Where did I say he was a 1st pair d? I don’t need to look at the stats again. You need to actually look at them. He’s a good top 4 defensive dman and has only had 1 bad year. The rest of the year the stats have been similar.
Show me where I said Pettersson was as valuable as Nylander? If I said that, why would I say the pens accept when they are also adding a 2nd in this acgm?
I never said they needed a LD. I said a young top 4 defensive defenseman should be on their wishlist if they were to trade Nylander.

The entire issue is that this trade is bad for the leafs, so that is why i am giving you reasons why it is bad for the leafs.
And no, if the leafs trade nylander, their wish list would be forwards

No their wishlist should be a young top 4 defensive defenseman. That defense is sus outside of Reilly and maybe Brodie who is no spring chicken lol.

No, it really shouldn't. The leafs have significantly more top 4 defenders and potential top 4 defenders than they do 1st line fowards

Nothing here makes any sense, except the Acciari, ROR, and Schenn contracts. Bertuzzi gets a little more than 5 mill, the Flames wouldn't do that deal, and the Nylander trade flat out sucks ass. I highly doubt he gets traded, and even if so, is worth WAAAY more than that. Willy should be back either way tho. Sammy will be back, and Freddie isn't all that good anymore. He's an ok 1B, but he's declining and only getting older.

Yeah, it is.
If the leafs trade nylander they have 2 top 6 forwards, and two maybes under 30 years old under contract in matthews, Marner, knies and robertson and then tavares over 30.
If the leafs dont make any moves they have 3 top 4 defenders and 3 maybes in rielly, mccabe, liljegren, niemela, holloway and dahlstrom and then gio and brodie over 30.

So 2 out of 6 and 3 out of 4. What's a bigger hole?

You literally just proved yourself wrong lol. You say if you trade Nylander then you’d only have 2 top 6 forwards. Then go on to list 3 definite top 6 forwards in Matthews, Marner, and Tavares. Then you have maybes in Knies and Robertson. You also trade Nylander then you sign Bunting who probably takes less, especially over the longer term. Now you have 4 definite top 6 forwards and 4 definite top 4 defenders.
Thanks for playing but you played yourself.

lol what? I proved my self wrong by showing you that the leafs have less top 6 forwards than they do top 4 defenders? Did you even read the words? No, of course you didnt.
here are the numbers again, let's see if you can read them
signed top 6 forwards without nylander 3. Tavraes, Matthews, Marner
That's 3
Maybes. Knies and Robertson
That's 2, for a total of 5 with two guys who may or may not be 2nd liners included

Signed top 4 defenders 4, Rielly, Brodie, McCabe, Liljeren
woah, 4 out of 4 already!
now the maybes! 3 Niemela, Holloway and Dahlstrom
total of 7. 7 top 4 defenders including maybes in the system

not only do the leafs have 4 out of 4 needed guys, they have extra for 7 total. they literally have more top 4 guys and futures than they do top 6 forwards and futures total.
Thanks for playing, but you just clowned yourself

Trollolol. Liljegren isn’t a top 4 d. He’s suspect at best. Congrats you played yourself again. But hey, if you wanna keep going and making yourself look bad, be my guest.

Yeah, he is. But even if he wasnt the leafs still need forwards way more by the most basic of math. But hey,its clear counting is hard for you
