My hope would be that if we trade DeBrincat, we would get back a full refund from any team.

That would mean if we trade DeBrincat to Detroit, we would get #9 overall + a second + a third.

But what if Detroit doesn't want to trade #9 overall for DeBrincat?

We’ll gladly trade you sand for pounding in exchange for future considerations. You’re not getting your “full refund”. You’re not getting two firsts, you’re not getting 9OA.

What you’re getting is an overpriced undersized winger who doesn’t want to be there and will be traded away for less value than what you paid.

Why not? He was picked 33rd or around there and has only improved his stock since then

Or we just keep "driving that car" for another 8 years until it quits.

And then you'll move on to whine and complain about the next ACGM involving a trade to Detroit.

What is the reason you’re proposing a trade for cat then if you’re able to resign him just do it

Calls DeBrincat overpriced, but doesn't say or even know what DeBrincat will sign for.

Says DeBrincat doesn't want to be in Ottawa, but doesn't show evidence that would suggest that.

Seeing as how he won’t sign long term I can’t see how that will be 8 years from now. He’ll sign his 1 year deal for 9 million and then become UFA next summer. Dude wants UFA status to go where he wants to go.

Show evidence that DeBrincat won't sign long-term in Ottawa.

I've made several ACGMs where I sign DeBrincat.

Now, I made an ACGM on trading DeBrincat.

It's something new for a change, given that it's all everybody does on ACGM.

What does Pinto have to do with anything?

Because they are very similar in stats. Pinto 32nd overall, 0.43 ppg in 82gp as a 21/22 year old in what would be his rookie year. Berggren 33rd overall, 0.42 ppg in 67gp as a 22 year old in his rookie season. Now Pinto is a 6'3" right handed centre so I'm not saying Pinto and Berggren has the same value but if Berggren isn't worth a first than Pinto would be worth like a late first. That's only saying if you think Berggren is worth a second. Berggren has excelled in every league he's played and is just starting to touch his potential. So I'm asking what you value Pinto at so I can see where Berggren would stand in your books.

Probably the last thing you would use. The point was he’s a proven player more so than he was now and in a redraft he would be selected much higher. He continues to excel everywhere he plays and has shown he’s gotten better and better. Everybody likes to overrate draft picks, I’m not going to say Berggren would be worth a 15th overall selection. But definitely is worth a pick somewhere in the first round

Although he got limited ice time this season, Berggren is still on his ELC until the end of next season.

And he has shown tremendous progress in his first season in the NHL.

I would not recommend trading him unless a team overpays (i.e. Jeannot, Lundkvist).

Trading DeBrincat to a team in the same division is tricky.

It would need to be a deal that saves face.

      I wouldn't trade Berggren for a 2nd either.

He's on a waivers exempt ELC until the end of next season.

He's also had a good first season with the limited amount of ice time he's given.

As for DeBrincat, trading star players within the division are rare.

The return would need to be irresistible.

Yes it's intradivision, but it's not like it's clearly swinging in one team's favor. I think intradivision stuff is bull****, but I can see why people are hesitant.

The rumors are saying he will not sign long term and he will sign a 1 year deal and then walk. Not sure what you are talking about, all the pundits are saying this. Now would it be nice to get The Cat, sure but the 9OA or two 1st is a little ridiculous. He is good but not great. Now the islanders 1st a 2nd and maybe a second 2nd round pi k but that is the vest I see Se s getting for a disgruntled player.

Remember, he has a huge cap hit his final RFA year. There are not many teams that can take that on and are willing to cough up that much capital.

As for DeBrincat, trading star players within the division are rare.

The return would need to be irresistible.

While I agree, Sens if they teade him they want him to go West. Canucks or Calagary come to mind, but they are not going to trade for him unless they know they can resign.

      Sometimes, rumors lack credibility.

The "pundits" also said DeBrincat wants to wait until a new owner is in place and decides which direction we're going to go.

That would mean he's leaving the door open for a long-term extension.
