So here is the scenario I am assuming going into this

Canes get blown off the ice by Devils, in the process it becomes obvious

- Necas is a role player, not a foundational piece. He can only do well when surrounded by the right players and doesn't have the mettle for the playoffs

- Kot was a bad decision, or at least needs more time than we thought, but becoming a true 2nd C is no guarantee, but we're likely stuck with him

- Teuvo has hit his max and is starting to digress.

- Canes need to start over at G. Andersen either gets hurt or isn't able to be elite. Raanta proves he's a career backup and lets in a couple soft goals, and Pyotr proves he's not ready and can't be trusted yet.
The best thing the Canes have going for them is the D pipeline. Top 4 are as good as there is in the league, and Morrow and Nikishin will be ready and available in a couple years. Chatfield proved he's a legit NHL D man
