Can't see AZ taking on Murray's $6m actual salary to buy a 1st. And Leafs fans will say Leafs never do this - that Murray isn't a cap dump. Hawks would probably make this deal though.

Leaf fans just look at last year when everyone said Mrazek was going to cost a 1st to move. And it cost 13 spots in the draft. Now Murray is better and has only 1 year. It won't cost as much to move him as it did Mrazek, who cost basically nothing to move. Murray returns nothing to move. With the paper thin goalie market this summer, Murray isn't far off from the top options. Like is Murray less viable than Andersen? Both injured often but Murray at least has 2 cup wins. Murray is going to be a risky but decent option for teams that need goalies and there are a lot of those.

Why not? Right handed shot who can play all situations? Brodie is done after next season. Maybe we wont get him at that cap hit but boy he would be a nice piece.

AZ will need a goalie. They are trading Vemeljka this offseason.

Because Matthews, Nylander and Liljegren need new deals after next season and then Marner and JT the year after. We need to make they work first and foremost
