Keller is a near 100 point scorer, so two firsts and some meh stuff isn't gonna be enough.

There is a BIG difference between his career high of 86(this past season) and 100 points... there's a reason most guys don't hit the century mark. He's only been a ppg player once in his career as well... he's a very good player, but he's not McDavid.

Certainly isn't McDavid, but certainly isn't a mid and a probable late first.

Big difference is hes a top line player locked in through his prime on a cost controlled contract. Thats huge for AZ, so gonna need to be at least a top prospect coming back with those picks.

Two firsts sounds great but it's two late firsts, I'd ask for Detroit's first if I was Arizona. He's a 1st line in his prime winger on a good deal.

The other part of that is you'd be blowing a $5m hole (counting in Kuba's contract) in Arizona's salary cap. I mean how many more LTIR contracts are out there for them to take on?

If you're going to go after a good player on Arizona's roster then it's really Schmaltz who's cap friendly but cash expensive, and probably not within Arizona's planned rebuild timeline.

These are all fair points, probably need to change the 2024 1st to Detroit's and change the 4th to say a 2nd in this year's draft, but the absurd ask of Seider is laughable. Keller is a winger, not a center and is on the small side. Once again, he's a great player and I'm not trying to discount that, but to act like he's a top 20 player in the league, deserving a top 20 return, is absurd.

If fiala got 19th overall and an A+ prospect i don't see how we'd get Keller without 9th oa or atleast one of the high end guys Kasper or Edvinsson going back to Arizona.

Brock Faber was not an A+ prospect when they added him in the trade. He wa like fifth on their prospect depth chart. The fact that he's played well since is a great get but doesn't change the fact that he wasn't rated as highly some of the other guys before the trade. Second, the Fiala trade happened in a weaker draft so the situations aren't comprable. Take out the 24 1st and add Mazur and i'd say it's fair.

Faber was NCAA defensive player of the year before he got moved so yeah he was already a high prospect before the deal.

In a system with Durzi, Spence and Clarke; he was a least the 4th rated right handed defenseman in their system. That's not an A+ prospect. More like a B + prospect.

Because they have a lot of them doesn't make him a worse player.

both the firsts are borderline second round picks and Kubalik won't amount to anything on AZ. 4th is trash. Kellers only 24 and locked up for 5 more years on an amazing deal, getting him starts with one of Seider, Edvinsson or Raymond. If you think otherwise you're cracked. A return for Keller would look something like Wings + Isles 2023 first and Edvinsson.

Dude you don't seem to have much of a handle on reality. The 18th pick is not a borderline second. Luckily we have 2 recent comparable in the Fiala and DeBrincat trades neither of which even remotely supports your argument. Might want to adjust you're thinking a bit on some of these trades.

Faber was, rightly, their preferred option. One could argue Clarke vs Faber, I suppose (but Clarke had just gotten cut from World Junior team). But Spence and Durzi were never close to Faber.
