i think he can get more money. with pp time elsewhere, i also cant see the leafs offering more than that. it has to be a nic paul type of deal.

Liljegren is better than Peeke already and he still hasn't reached his potential. He's also a pretty good fit with Rielly, not to mention his chemistry with Giordano.

Not a fan of the Crouse trade. Robertson is 21, people keep forgetting that. Abruzzese has value too, and Crouse is overrated IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if both Robertson and Abruzzese were better than Crouse in 2-3 years. We can dump Murray some other way.

I think the Jackets decline. We already have too many small offesnive minded defensemen and if we are trading Peeke it would be for some other position besides another RD.
If they want to trade Knies for Peeke then thats a different story.

Peeke is 2 inches taller than Liljegren and does literally nothing better than Liljegren. Who isn't a small offensive defenceman, he's a decent sized two way defender with a lot of untapped potential. Peeke is a depth defenceman on one of the worst defensive teams in the entire league.

In what way is Peeke slightly better than Liljegren? Liljegren has amazing underlying numbers and plays on a top team that has so many options he's sitting to start the playoffs. Peeke is billed as a stay at home defenceman on one of the worst defensive teams in the game. If he was so good defensively, his underlying numbers and team numbers would be utterly terrible. Peeke is overrated and isn't even better than Gudbranson who really really sucks.

This was my line of thinking before his stupid play. This is not an overreaction but clearly he can't be trusted to keep his cool and not hurt his team who's trying to think bigger picture. I love Buntz and know he's trying to help in his way, but I can't see anyone coming outta the lineup for him atm unless an injury arises, he could have played his last game as a leaf. The contract you offered is what I would have and thought the leafs FO should have offered this off-season, but now his value on the FA market will be greater than his value to TOR at this point.

He should be, and I sincerely hope he doesn't get traded like Sandin did.
