That’s an awful lot to give up for Ty Smith when you consider that Pittsburgh would be thrilled just to move Jeff Petry without any retention.

Its essentially 2 late seconds worth of assets going to Pitt... that would be a total value of 2 late seconds and a late 3rd for John Marino. I would say thats a bout fair value. Petry is in for free - maybe Pitt could add a 4th or 5th Rd pick for his cap hit but honestly - he is the perfect fit in Buff as a vet, top 4 defensive RHD for Power. Only on the cap for 2 more years right when all buffs guys need paid. I would bet my life savings that a trade sending Petry to Buff at least gets mentioned b/w Adams and Pitt GM.
