Description
Carter (retire pls) and Granlund (could be to any team, Ottawa just won my blind pick test) get cap-dumped, Boeser and Saros come in. I'm not sure if those trades are enough, but ya never know. The bottom-6 gets younger and better. Defense is left basically intact, it's good when healthy; POJ and Smith can develop into solid defensemen.

Team goes from oldest in NHL to 9th/10th oldest (2023 ages). This, in theory, should allow the Pens to be solid for 23-24 and 24-25 before Sid, Geno, Boeser, Saros, and Pettersson are due for new deals or tough decisions.

Bunting gets way more. Usually don't like to nitpick salaries but since you're close to the cap I think it has to be mentioned.

Nashville also doesnt make that deal. Saros is a top 5 goaltender. Hes got 2 years of team control. If they're moving him its for multiple firsts. Or a first and at least 1-2 Top end prospects (guys who were picked in the top 5).
Detroit or NJ would be the teams to make this move. Theyve got the players and picks.
