Doubtful, Goodrow can block 1/2 of the teams in the league, And what makes you think he has any interest in Buffalo? Plus you would need to attach at least a 2nd or a good prospect to move that contract out. No GM is helping Chris Drury out without it being very painful for the NYR.

...that just missed the playoffs for the 12th straight year (2nd most in the big 4 leagues behind the Sacramento Kings). It takes some time for that kind of franchise to rebuild its value among players. They might get there at some point but don't expect players to go out of their way to play in Buffalo.

They rebuilt the entire organization, have improved by 36 points in 2 years, have signed 3 members to their core for 7 year deals since the end of last year (talk about guys wanting to be here) deals for dahlin and power should follow this offseason, missed the playoffs by 1 point with the youngest team in the league, have drafted and developed well, have a players coach and have plenty of cap space. People have noticed.

You're right. Sabres have been a real success story. No reason not to think they are going to force...maybe even the # 1 team in the Atlantic for the last half of this decade. But getting back to Goodrow, no reason to think Buffalo wants his contract, or no reason to think that Goodrow wants to uproot his life move from a successful team, the Rangers. But if by chance a team like Buffalo or the Wings or some team with cap is and is on his trade list......use all that leverage to acquire good picks, if Rangers balk...screw them.
