Why is Addison worth a 1st? especially a pick that's around 15? He was a nightmare most of the time he was on the ice. Had offensive skills but also made a boatload of mistakes that you can't have on the backend.

Letang is going to miss more time, they need someone cheap who can run their power play.. the first will not help this group get to the playoffs and the return that they get when they do tank will mitigate letting it go now.. Addison was meant to be on the penguins now, that's why they drafted him in the second round, he's going back and we are getting a higher asset than his draft position for his development and for Pitts need.

There are many options in the league that can run a powerplay well and have issues in their own end. Trading a 1st for one that’s played one season is a pretty bad decision.
