Why is no one considering this as a potential goalie for the Habs

Description

Mtl seems to always be looking for goalies that potential be available (hart, Knight, etc) not sure if he's on their radar but perets played EVERY game for Quinnipiac University and is local from the Dollard-des-Ormeaux region. In the past 2 seasons he's 54-9-5 with a about a 0.935 save % and 21 shutouts. These stats are quite insane for a 23 year old and not to mention Quinnipiac University is not a team like Michigan where the team is stacked with nhl prospects that can boost the goalies stats up and inflate them. This guy reminds me of Hellebuyck in some ways with how many starts he gets and even with all of them still gives his team a chance to win even if they vastly don't deserve to. This should be someone they look into and may have an inside track based on him being a local guy.

I have made several threads signing Perets to a deal, personally I think he is the most viable option out there. Imagine if he continues to develop at the AHL and Monty continues to develop at the NHL level. In 2 years we could have 2 of the best goalies in the league and as a bonus selling point to management both are quebecois

Montembeault is 26 now, and is league average at best...predicting that he's going to be on of the best goalies in the league in a couple of years is bold...

Edit: Not against the Perets signing though...put as many bullets in the chamber as you can and one might hit some day.

Plenty of talks about him. Just go see what I wrote on Levi's signature tread 2 weeks ago...

Signing an NCAA free agent goalie isn't a plan A...or B. Really not the best pipeline for starters prospects. Europe is where you find them now and days.

Monty is 12 in the league for GAA and 20th for sv% among goalies who have started more than 30 games. Seeing as our team has not only meen decimated by injuries for the last 2 years and deploying a pretty much entire rookie D most nights, I would say he has hit his stride and is still being underrated.
