Sharks won’t trade any asset for Goodrow. The people here who appreciated him are no longer here ( Deboer and Wilson) and in a rebuild he isn’t valuable to us. But he is a plus player and I’m sure there is a playoff team that could use him… Buffalo maybe? I would Sign Kane over Tarasenko TBH. Just think Kane still has more upside and less injury risk and 1-2 year deal5-5.5 AV at his age is most likely what he gets offered.

Goodrow was not signed for offense but his intangibles yet the first 2 years of his deal have been BY FAR the best offensively of his career. He is exactly the type of depth wing a playoff team needs and why TBL paid so much to get him and we’re very happy with him. Why do you guys keep trying to trade him on here?

He's been a really solid Ranger, can play up the lineup when needed and brings the intangibles a team looking to go on deep playoff runs needs. Unfortunately it is just the cap hit the Rangers cap situation.

It's hard to work out scenarios where they can keep Goodrow for next year without A) Trading one of Lafreniere, Miller or Kakko (non-starter I'd say, I think NYR management would agree) or B) having Kakko, Vesey, Othmann and another league-min or near league-min player as RW depth next year. Or having Goodrow as 2RW with someone like Jake Lecyshcyn or Ryan Carpenter as 4C. Not great.

They have an outside chance or bringing back Tarasenko if they deal Goodrow and the cap rises 3.5+ next year as is being rumored. Bottom line, would love to keep Goodrow but the math just doesn't seem to work.

Also I just picked the Sharks as a placeholder team. Some team would take him for a 4th or a 5th in a cap dump.

But isn’t he doing exactly what he was signed for and more? I would think the management is very happy and have no plans of trading him.

Goody has done a fantastic job in his role and is more or less considered invaluable by GG, and Drury would be loathed to move him. It comes down to $$ and movement clauses, and he makes enough that if he is traded it could make an impact on the cap, also he doesn't have a NMC but a 15 no-trade list. The more likely scenario he would be traded is if the cap goes up by $3.5M and the NYR figure out a way to keep the current group together, otherwise youth is on the way to fill in the gaps and Goody will be retained for his leadership.

He's been better than advertised. Having his best offensive production of his career and doing what he did in Tampa like blocking shots and whatnot. Issue is they can't afford a $3.6M fourth liner. Drury didn't exactly have the smartest first year with the Buchnevich trade, Reaves trade, and Goodrow + Nemeth signings.
